Brown Students and Staff help those in need

Brown staff members Valerie Alberti, Trish Docker, and Bryan Augustine, have successfully coordinated another Adopt-A-Family event for Brown.  Brown has participated for over 10 years in the program, sponsored by the New London Neighborhood Alliance.  Without your help and amazing generosity, 68 people making up 19 families would not have a holiday. As we packed over 70 huge bags of gifts for transport,we would like to thank all those who contributed.

Under the direction of former Paraprofessional Clare Stone, students in our Mural Painting Club painted their own inspirational message on each of 18 pillars in the main hallway of the school.  Their messages included, Be Cheerful, Be Trustworthy, Be Responsible, Be Confident, Be Colorful, Be Persevering, Be a Dreamer, Be a Leader, Be Inspirational, Be Enthusiastic, Be Yourself, Be Flexible, Be Bright, Be Ambitions, Be Brave, Be Unique, Be Creative, and Be Strong.

The students then decided they wanted to dedicate their messages of inspiration to the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School.  With Clare Stone’s help, they painted one final message, in the shape of a paw print with their dedication.
